The Manhattan Camerata is an innovative chamber orchestra that seamlessly weaves original compositions, world music, and European period music together, to produce a cohesive, contemporary aesthetic. Performances integrate the Western classical chamber orchestra with several instruments from around the world (Portuguese guitar, sitar, koto, darbuka, bandoneón, among others), in a wide variety of musical styles (including tango, fado, Indian music, and flamenco). Various art forms are incorporated in the presentation and articulation of the Manhattan Camerata’s works, arriving at a culturally rich, unexpected experience.
