Finalists of the 2024 Palatinate Prize for Fine Arts Announced

The five finalists for the 2024 Palatinate Prize for Fine Arts have been revealed. The nominees for the main prize category are: Veronika Olma, Mara Pollak, Gertrud Riethmüller, Michael Volkmer, and Elias Wessel. In April, the jury selected 32 artists from a pool of 334 candidates, featuring their works in the exhibition »Transformationen,« curated by Denise Kamm at theMuseum Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern (mpk). A catalog of the exhibition, which runs until August 11, is available at the mpk. The winner of the Palatinate Prize 2024 will be announced at the Palatinate Prize Gala on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 6 pm in the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern.
The jury, chaired by District Council Chairman Theo Wieder, included Kim Behm (Managing Director of PORT25 – Raum für Gegenwartskunst), Steffen Egle (Director of the mpk), Luisa Heese (Curator of Contemporary Art at the Kunsthalle Mannheim), Stefanie Kleinsorge (Head of Cultural Affairs for the City of Ludwigshafen), Prof. Tina Stolt (Head of the Institute for Art Studies and Fine Arts at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau), Dr. Julia Wallner (Director of the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck), and René Zechlin (Director of the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum Ludwigshafen).
