»Transformationen«—Exhibition at Museum Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern

The Museum Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern (mpk), invites you to the opening of the exhibition of the Palatinate Prize for Fine Arts 2024 on Wednesday, June 5, at 7 pm (CEST). Through August 11, 2024 selected works of the nominees are being presented in a diverse and exciting exhibition entitled »Transformationen.« District Chairman Theo Wieder, mpk Director Steffen Egle and curator, Denise Kamm, will speak at the opening. The exhibition presents over 40 works by the 23 main prize nominees and nine candidates for the newcomer prize. A catalog with texts and illustrations of the exhibited works/positions will be published. More information is available on the website of the Museum Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern.

The jury was chaired by District Council Chairman Theo Wieder (without voting rights) and included Kim Behm, Managing Director of PORT25 - Raum für Gegenwartskunst, Steffen Egle, Director of the mpk, Luisa Heese, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Kunsthalle Mannheim, Stefanie Kleinsorge, Head of Cultural Affairs of the City of Ludwigshafen, Prof. Tina Stolt, Head of the Institute for Art Studies and Fine Arts at the RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, Dr. Julia Wallner, Director of the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck, and René Zechlin, Director of the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum Ludwigshafen.

The following artists qualified for the main prize: Christine Biehler, Thomas Brenner, Gabriele Engelhardt, Anne-Louise Hoffmann, Norbert Illig/Constanze Illig, Markus Kaesler, Rainer S. Kaufmann, Fabian Knöbl, Kerstin Mörsch, Veronika Olma, Mara Pollak, Michael Rausch, Hamdy Reda, Friedhelm Rettig, Gertrud Riethmüller, Keyvan Rooshanbin, Dominik Schmitt, Claudia Schmitz, Michael Volkmer, Marcel F. Weber, Elias Wessel, André Wischnewski and Rainer Zerback. Competing for the Young Talent Award are: Tim Abels, Danae Hoffmann, Valentina Jaffé, Oscar Lebec, Wiebke Meischner, Lilith Nikolai, Jonas Saling, Pia Treiber and Tino Zimmermann.
