Hans-Juergen Herschel: Variations on »Die Freude am Rest« [The Joy in What Remains]

In his text »Variations on Die Freude am Rest« Hans-Juergen Herschel reflects on the series Die Freude am Rest [The Joy in What Remains]. Hans-Jürgen Herschel was born 1954, studied German, philosophy and theology in Mainz and Toulouse. He worked as a teacher for German, philosophy and ethics until 2019, is longtime director of the theater group »Prisma« Speyer and performs literary-musical programs, mostly in cooperation with the musician Lömsch Lehmann. The essay is included in the book Elias Wessel: Ästhetik des Konflikts/Aesthetics of Conflict published by Verlag Kettler in March 2023. The original version in German language is available here.
