Axel Gelfert joined Technische Universität Berlin as a Professor of Theoretical Philosophy in 2017; prior to coming to Berlin, he spent eleven years teaching at the National University of Singapore as a tenured Assistant/Associate Professor. His research revolves around the interface between social epistemology and the philosophy of science and technology; he regularly revisits philosophical issues in connection with his prior training as a Theoretical Physicist. He is the author of two monographs (A Critical Introduction to ­Testimony, 2014, and How to Do Science With Models: A ­Philosophical ­Primer, 2016) and has written numerous papers (among others, »Fake News: A Definition«, 2018).

Axel Gelfert ist seit 2017 Professor für Theoretische Philosophie an der Technischen Universität Berlin; zuvor lehrte er elf Jahre lang an der National University of Singapore, zuletzt als Associate Professor. Seine Forschung bewegt sich an der Schnittstelle zwischen ­sozialer Erkenntnistheorie und Wissenschafts- und Technikphilosophie; ­dabei kehrt er immer wieder zu Themen seiner früheren Tätigkeit als Theoretischer Physiker zurück. Er ist der Autor zweier Monografien (A Critical Introduction to Testimony, 2014, und How to Do Science With Models: A Philosophical Primer, 2016) sowie zahlreicher Veröffentlichungen (u. a. »Fake News: A Definition«, 2018).
